Environment & Architecture

This course taught us paradigms of thinking about
environmental architecture, and focuses on introducing climatic, principles for the design of built form. It offers tools for climate, conscious design and resource management.
I have to design a habitat for Chakrata which is in Uttarakhand for cold & cloudy climate
NARRATIVE
Below the home, on the ground floor wide,
A space for the animals to safely live in.
Their warmth rises, a natural heat,
Insulating the home, a comfort so sweet.
The floor above where the family have their home, stay warm together
The walls of stone, strong and true, Hold the mountain's strength in every hue.
A high plinth of stone, anchors the home, to secure it well from storms
But in this haven, where love breathes,
The two bedrooms shine, a world of their own.
The open kitchen, heart that beats, Where life is cooked in moments sweet.
Its warm air flows and the living room’s glow, Where stories are shared, where memories grow
Two balconies extend, like wings to the sky, Where dreams take flight, and worries die.
The glass wall of balconies catch the sun’s soft light on south side , A perfect place for morning’s sight.
The angled rays, with purpose they fall,
To warm the rooms, to touch them all.
Above it all, a roof of slate,With a gentle slope, and its supporting plate.
it sheds the rain, it sheds the snow,
Keeping the home dry, safe, a glow.
Sunlight dances through skylight on the floor so new,
While the window gives peaceful view
